Have you ever sweated it after dropping your lil toy? I hadn't yet but dreaded doing so, therefore I invested in this brilliant case. I love it and although it takes the "sexy" outta your iTouch, but I reckon it's better to know it's sexy and have it still work after an oopsie. We have all hard wood or tiled floors and well, accidents can happen.
It offers superb protection and have an Otterbox protecting my iPhone as well.

I purchased 2 Otterbox Defender iPod Touch cases for my teenagers. The Otterbox case provided good protection and they liked it. The only problem was they cannot use docking station on their stereo alarm clock or the JBL Radial speaker and to charge the iTouch or listen to music.
This is a well designed case, provided good protection; but lack of docking feature.
I will buy 2 more cases; but not until I find some sort of adapter which will allow me to use docking station.

The way I see it, there are only two cases out right now that are worth buying for your iPod touch (second/third gen). They are the Otterbox Defender Case and the Speck Candyshell. Let me give you a brief overview of these products:
Otterbox Defender Case - provides the most protection for your money. There isn't any other case out there that can give you the protection this product provides while still providing FULL FUNCTIONALITY of the iPod touch. The appearance is not something that bothers me personally, but that's a decision you will have to make. The only downsides to the Otterbox is the inability to fit it into docking devices (yes, you can plug in your usb iPod cable just fine, but it won't fit in iHome products or Apple's docking station) and the added bulk.
Speck Candyshell - provides just enough protection to keep your iPod touch safe from the occasional drop or scratches on the screen via the screen protector. This is a more attractive case than the Otterbox and adds almost no bulk. There is only one real drawback to this case. The small plastic/rubber strip at the bottom of your screen is thin and may be prone to breaking if you are not careful (I have had mine for a couple of weeks now and it seems completely fine being taken in and out of my pocket all the time).
In conclusion, if you are someone whose electronic devices have a tendency to break through your daily use and want a case that will give you the comfort of knowing your iPod touch will be safe through almost anything (unless through divine intervention), then go with the Otterbox Defender. If you are someone who is already very careful with all of your electronics and don't need the same kind of protection and want something slimming and sleek, then go with the Speck Candyshell.

I have gone through a few cases, I found this to be the best I have used. Combines the strenghth of a plastic case with the cushion of rubber cover. I really like the covers over the headphone and docking jack to keep them clean. Only drawback is you cannot dock Ipod in docking station with case on.
